"A thriving, and sustainable future is possible. We need radically different connection and communication to co-create the future"

Dominique hosted a roundtable with the former President of Ireland and Current Chair of the Elders, Mary Robinson, at the Youth Climate Justice Fund event at the Ford Foundation

Young people receive only 0.76% of all climate philanthropy (found form a YCJF study), and at YCJF, she plans to change that. For funders, it's not just about who you fund, but how you fund. It is crucial for funders to build trusting relationships with their grantees. This can be done through participatory grant-making, accompaniment or increased transparency around funding decision. She spoke on the power of intergeneration collaboration- we need to co-create the future. Mary Robinson in response said she was brilliant.

"Can you look into the eyes of your children and those on the frontlines of this crisis and say you are doing all you can? If not, we need you, now."

"We are here because
we believe in the power
of everyday people,
in all of you"

Dominique, alongside Vanessa Nakate, commanded the main stage of Sziget Festival, to an audience of over 30,000. She was introduced by Maggie Baird, the founder of Support & Feed and Mother of Billie Eilish and Finneas, the speech took place before Billie's set, meaning Dominique was able to engage a new audience into protecting the planet.

She highlighted that we do not need 100 perfect climate activists, but a million imperfect people doing what they can. People brought their climate signs to show support.

"We are here today because we believe in the power of everyday people, in all of you.

For many countries on the frontlines, climate change is already devastating lives, It is these communities who have contributed the least to the crisis but remain most vulnerable to its impacts."
